Who makes two-phase for AI data centers

A two-phase fluid works by boiling. It sits at a low boiling point, evaporates at the hot surface, rises as vapour, and condenses on a cooled coil above, carrying heat as latent heat rather than as a temperature rise. That moves far more energy per unit of fluid than single-phase circulation, and it holds the surface near a fixed temperature — both genuinely attractive properties for very high heat flux. The problem is chemistry. The fluids that boil in the right range with the right dielectric properties have been fluorinated compounds, and that family is under regulatory pressure and has been the subject of a major producer withdrawal — the catalog's own note on the parent part records 3M's exit from Novec 1230 at the end of 2025. A cooling architecture whose fluid supply is contracting is a difficult thing to design a decade- long facility around. So this part is best read as an architecture with a supply-side question mark rather than a growth story. It applies both to two-phase immersion chambers and to the two-phase cold plates in this layer. What to look for is what a given system's fluid actually is, whether the supplier has committed to producing it beyond the current regulatory horizon, and what the replacement path looks like if it has not — a sealed two-phase system is not trivially refilled with something else.
