Who makes IGBT and SiC modules for AI data centers

A static UPS is a power electronics machine: it rectifies incoming AC to DC, holds the DC bus against the battery, and inverts back to AC for the load. The modules in this part are the switching devices that do that conversion — silicon IGBTs traditionally, and increasingly silicon carbide, packaged as modules rather than discrete devices because of the current involved. The move to wide-bandgap here is the same argument as elsewhere in the catalog but with a longer lever. A UPS runs continuously for the life of the facility, so conversion efficiency is not a specification line, it is an operating cost multiplied by every hour the site exists, and it is paid twice because the losses become heat the cooling plant removes. Higher switching frequency also shrinks the magnetics, which is how modular UPS designs got small enough to be serviceable as slide-in units. AI sites have grown UPS capacity along with everything else, and the shift toward higher- voltage DC distribution puts more of this conversion in play. What to look for is whether the UPS builder makes its own power stage or buys modules, since that determines who owns the supply risk, and whether a design has been qualified with silicon carbide or only offers it in newer frames — the device makers here are the same names that appear on board-level power in Layer 4.
