Who makes perimeter intrusion detection for AI data centers

Perimeter detection is the outermost layer of physical security: sensing that something has crossed a boundary before it reaches the building. The technologies are complementary rather than competing — microwave and radar sensors that watch open ground, fibre sensing that detects vibration on a fence line, and video analytics that classify what has been detected. The engineering problem is false alarms, and it is what separates products. A perimeter runs through weather, wildlife and vegetation, and a system that alarms on every fox and every gust trains its operators to ignore it, which is worse than having no system. That is why layered detection is standard — a fibre hit corroborated by radar and confirmed on camera is actionable in a way that any one alone is not — and why commissioning against the actual site conditions matters more than the datasheet. Data centers have unusually well-defined perimeters and unusually strong incentives to detect early, since the value inside is high and the sites are often isolated. AI campuses add scale: longer perimeters, larger standoff distances, and more of the site occupied by generation and cooling plant that is itself worth protecting. What to look for is how detections are corroborated across technologies, whether the response procedure is defined and staffed, and integration with the guarding and access control in the sibling parts — detection without response is instrumentation.
