What 'reported' means on this site
Every part→company placement on this site carries one of three tags, and the site renders them with exactly these words:
- disclosed — the company or a regulatory filing says so. A source URL sits in the row.
- reported — the placement comes from trade press or a reference-design partner list, not from the company itself.
- inferred — the placement comes from our taxonomy seed and has no citation attached yet. It is a lead, not a fact.
Most catalogs blur these together. We think the blur is the product defect. Consider the NVL72’s copper spine — the ~5,000-cable backplane that carries NVLink between trays:

Every company in that table is tagged reported. That is not a weakness of the data; it is the data. Nvidia has never published which cable vendors won which share of that spine. What exists in public is a set of partner-list appearances and trade-press accounts naming Amphenol, TE, Foxconn Interconnect, Luxshare and Bizlink. So that is precisely what the tag says — and we will not silently promote any of those rows to disclosed until a filing or a vendor statement does it for us.
The discipline cuts both ways:
- Tags only upgrade with a source. A row moves to disclosed when we can attach a URL to a filing, an earnings transcript, or the company’s own product documentation.
- Numbers need sources, always. Share estimates, quantities and lead times appear only with a citation in the row. Unknown stays blank — you will see a lot of blank, and that is deliberate.
- The seed is versioned. The current taxonomy is v0.1, drafted 2026-08-27. Re-imports never overwrite hand-verified corrections.
How to send a correction. If you work at one of these companies and we have you on the wrong part — or missing from the right one — a correction with a public source is the cheapest sourced edge there is. The sources & method page has the current route; every table row traces to one line in a CSV, so a fix is a one-line change with a URL attached.
