Who makes rack/row cooling controls & software for AI data centers

Software and controllers that manage coolant setpoints, pump speed, and valve positions at the rack and row level, and that tie into facility-wide data center infrastructure management (DCIM) systems.

This is the control layer sitting on top of the physical loop: it reads the flow, pressure, and leak sensors described in 5.10, adjusts CDU pump speed and valve positions in response, and coordinates cooling across racks and rows rather than treating each CDU as an isolated unit. It also feeds data up into facility-wide DCIM software, so operators can see rack-level thermal and coolant status alongside power and IT load. As liquid cooling moved from a handful of specialized racks to the default configuration across a hall, coordinating many CDUs and thousands of leak and flow sensors became a software problem as much as a mechanical one, particularly for facilities that mix direct-to-chip, rear-door, and immersion cooling on the same floor. Vendors that supply the physical CDU or manifold hardware often bundle their own controls software, which raises the question of how much of this category is captured by hardware incumbents versus independent software providers. Investors should watch the degree of integration with broader DCIM platforms as a signal of which vendors are positioned to expand beyond point control into facility-wide software.
