Who makes pumps (facility water loop hardware) for AI data centers

These pumps move the facility-side water: from the chillers or heat-rejection equipment out to the CRAH coils and the CDU heat exchangers, and back. They are larger than the pumps inside a CDU and they serve the whole site rather than a row, which changes how they are configured — typically as a parallel train with at least one spare, on variable frequency drives, headered so any pump can serve any part of the loop. The reason redundancy is arranged that way is that this loop cannot stop. A chiller can trip and the thermal mass in the loop buys minutes; if circulation stops, that mass is unreachable and hall temperature climbs immediately. So pump redundancy is treated with the same seriousness as UPS redundancy on the electrical side, and the control system that starts a standby pump is part of the specification rather than an accessory. AI has raised flow rates because site loads are larger, and liquid cooling has changed the temperature the loop runs at, which affects pump sizing more than it sounds — warmer loops carry the same heat with different flow. What to look for is the redundancy configuration and whether drives are included, since variable speed on a facility loop is where a large share of pumping energy is saved. The suppliers are the industrial pump majors, several of whom also appear on the CDU pumps in Layer 5.
