Industrial gas companies supply a wide product line that touches the data-center chain at several unrelated points. AI-driven fab expansion — more wafer capacity for GPUs, HBM and networking silicon — is the larger and more direct driver of gas demand here; the fire-suppression use inside the data center itself scales with the count and size of protected spaces rather than with chip volume. For investors, exposure runs mostly through the fab-buildout cycle (on-site gas supply contracts are long-dated and tied to specific fab expansions) rather than through data-center construction directly, with the suppression-system side a smaller, steadier adjacent market.
